Maytenus flagellata (also called Whip Maytenus, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree native to South America. It grows up to 10 m tall and has leaves that are oblong-ovate, with a pointed tip, and are up to 8 cm long. It is found in dry forests, scrublands, and rocky areas in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
