Description

Smilax retroflexa (also called Southern Sarsaparilla, among many other common names) is a perennial flowering plant native to the southeastern United States. It has a woody stem and grows up to 1 m tall. Its leaves are ovate-lanceolate and its flowers are greenish-white. It is found in moist woodlands and thickets.
