Cultivation and Propagation

Potamogeton oakesianus can be propagated by division of the rhizomes or by seed. The rhizomes can be divided in spring or autumn. Seeds should be sown in spring in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for at least their first winter.
