Description
Potamogeton confervoides (also called Confervoid Pondweed, among many other common names) is an aquatic plant native to Europe, Asia and North America. It is a submerged plant with long, narrow leaves that are usually arranged in whorls of three. It grows in shallow, still or slow-moving water, and is found in ponds, lakes, ditches and slow-moving rivers.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Potamogeton confervoides is small and inconspicuous, with a single white petal. The seed is a small, dark brown nutlet, and the seedlings are delicate and thread-like.
Where to Find Potamogeton confervoides
Potamogeton confervoides is found in shallow, slow-moving water bodies in the northern United States and Canada, as well as in parts of Europe and Asia.
