Description
Polygala exserta (also called Exserted Polygala, among many other common names) is a perennial shrub native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It grows in dry, rocky, and sandy soils in open areas, such as deserts, grasslands, and scrublands.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Polygala exserta is a small, white, bell-shaped flower with five petals. The seed is a small, dark brown nutlet. The seedlings are small, dark green, and have a single pair of leaves.
