Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Fernandezia distichoides has small, white flowers that are arranged in a spike-like inflorescence. The seeds are small, brown and glossy. The seedlings are small, with a single, thin, upright stem and a tuft of narrow, pointed leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Fernandezia distichoides is a terrestrial orchid species native to Peru. It is best grown in a well-draining, humus-rich soil mix with plenty of organic matter. It prefers bright, indirect light and should be kept moist but not soggy. Propagation is done by division or by seed.
