Description
Thamnobryum assimile (also called as Assimilated Thamnobryum, among many other common names) is a species of moss found in tropical and subtropical regions. It is a small, yellowish-green moss with a short stem and small leaves. It is found in moist, shady areas, such as in forests, woodlands, and grasslands.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Thamnobryum assimile has small yellow flowers, which are followed by small, dark brown, egg-shaped seeds. The seedlings are small and have a single leaf that is lanceolate in shape.
Cultivation and Propagation
Thamnobryum assimile can be propagated by division of clumps or by sowing spores. Cultivation is best done in moist, humus-rich, acidic soils in partial shade.
