Description
Mielichhoferia borbonica (also called Mielichhoferiopsis borbonica, among many other common names) is a species of moss found in the Americas, Europe, and Africa. It has a yellow-green color and grows in dense tufts. It is typically found in moist, shady places such as forests, woodlands, and grasslands.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Mielichhoferia borbonica has small, yellowish-green flowers, and its seeds are tiny and brown. Its seedlings are small and delicate.
Cultivation and Propagation
Mielichhoferia borbonica can be propagated by division or seed. It prefers moist, well-drained soil and full sun. It can tolerate some shade, but will not flower as well. It should be watered regularly and fertilized in the spring. Deadheading spent flowers will encourage more blooms.
