Description
Frullania togashiana (also called Togashi's Frullania, among many other common names) is a small, perennial, evergreen liverwort with a creeping thallus. It is native to the tropical regions of Africa, Asia, and Australia, and is found in moist, shady habitats such as forests and grasslands.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Frullania togashiana has small, yellow-green flowers with 4-6 tepals. Its seeds are small and brown, and its seedlings have a single, oval-shaped leaf.
Cultivation and Propagation
Frullania togashiana can be propagated by division or by spore sowing. When propagating by division, separate the plant into several parts and replant them in a moist, well-draining soil. When propagating by spore sowing, collect the spores from the sporophyte and sow them on a moist, well-draining soil. Keep the soil moist and in a warm, humid environment until the spores germinate.
