Description
Flemingia yunnanensis (also called 'Yunnan Flemingia', among many other common names) is an evergreen shrub or small tree that grows up to 5 m tall. It is native to tropical and subtropical regions of India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and China. It prefers dry, open habitats, such as dry deciduous forests, scrub forests, and grasslands.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Flemingia yunnanensis has small, white flowers that are clustered together in a spike-like inflorescence. The seeds are small, black, and round. The seedlings have small, oval-shaped leaves that are arranged in an alternate pattern.
Cultivation and Propagation
Flemingia yunnanensis is a fast-growing, drought-tolerant shrub that can be propagated from seeds or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-draining soil mix and kept moist until germination. Cuttings should be taken from mature stems and planted in a moist soil mix. Both seeds and cuttings should be kept in a warm, sunny location until they are established.
