Description

Brachystegia tamarindoides (also called African Mahogany, among many other common names) is a medium-sized deciduous tree native to Africa, found in dry woodlands and savannas. It has a straight trunk and a rounded crown, with a grey-brown bark that is smooth and shiny. The leaves are compound, with two to four pairs of leaflets, and are a dark green colour. The flowers are small and yellow, and the fruit is a flat, round pod.
