Description
Lobelia caeciliae (also called Caecilia's Lobelia, among many other common names) is an annual herb in the bellflower family. It is native to the southeastern United States, where it is found in the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. It grows in moist, sandy soils in open woods, meadows, and roadsides.
Cultivation and Propagation
Lobelia caeciliae can be propagated by division or seed. It is best to divide the plant in spring or early summer. Seeds should be sown in spring or early summer in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for at least their first winter. Plant out in late spring or early summer.
